Sādhana Saptah 2026

Introduction

Sādhana Saptah 2026 (Strengthening Adaptive Development and Humane Aptitude for National Advancement) is one of India’s largest collaborative capacity-building initiatives, held from 2 to 8 April 2026. Organized by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Capacity Building Commission (CBC), and Karmayogi Bharat, week-long event aims to foster essential skills for responsive, citizen-centric governance.

Mission Karmayogi: The Foundation

Sādhana Saptah is a primary initiative under Mission Karmayogi (the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building). This Central Sector Scheme aims to transition the civil service from a “rule-based” approach to a “role-based” framework driven by specific competencies. The initiative carries the tagline “Ham Bane Karmayogi” and coincides with the Foundation Day of the CBC and the fifth anniversary of Mission Karmayogi.

Key Pillars of Mission Karmayogi:

    • Capacity Building Commission (CBC): Established in 2021, the CBC designs standards and supports organizations in creating their capacity-building plans.
    • Karmayogi Bharat SPV: Set up in 2022 to manage the iGOT Karmayogi digital platform.
    • iGOT Platform: A digital learning hub offering over 4,600 courses in multiple languages, currently used by more than 1.5 crore registered learners.

The Three Sutras (Themes) of Sādhana Saptah

The 2026 Sādhana Saptah is structured around three core themes, or Sutras, to prepare officials for the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047:

1. Technology: Exploring Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Public Infrastructure, data-informed decision-making, and automation to improve efficiency.

2. Tradition: mainstreaming Indian Knowledge Systems, ethical frameworks from Indian philosophy, and historical community-based governance models into modern administration.

3. Tangible Outcomes: Strengthening monitoring frameworks, measuring public value, and ensuring policies result in visible improvements for citizens.
