    • It is introduced by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
    • It aims to simplify and expedite the appeals process.
    • Aggrieved assesse can appeal certain orders before joint commissioner, passed by a below rank officer.
    • a person is not required to appear either personally or through authorized representative.
