Aims: to provide end-to-end holistic support to traditional artisans and craftspeople in scaling up their products and services.
Objectives:

- To recognize artisans and craftspeople as viswakarma.
 - To provide skill upgradation with suitable training.
 - To provide support for modern tools of better quality.
 - To enhance accessibility and availability of credit.
 - To incentivize digital transactions.
 - To promote branding and marketing.
 
 
Features:
- 
- It is a central sector scheme.
 - Duration: 5 years (FY 2023-24 to FY 2027-28)
 - Eligibility:
- An artisan working with hands and engaged in family based traditional trade in unorganized sector on self-employment basis.
 - Age – 18 years or above
 - Should not have availed loan under similar credit-based schemes, in past 5 years.
 - Benefits restricted to one member of the family.
 - Anyone in government service and their family member will not be eligible.
 
 - The scheme will be jointly administered by Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Department of Financial Services of Ministry of Finance.
 - The registration for the scheme will be through Common Service Centres (CSC).
 - PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card will be provided.
 - All scheduled commercial banks, Regional Rural banks, Small Finance Banks, Cooperative Banks, NBFCs, and Micro Finance Institutions are eligible for lending.
 
 
Benefits:

- It provide recognition to artisans and craftsman through Viswakarma certification.
 - Skill development (basic training) and skill upgradation (advanced training), along with stipend of Rs. 500 per day.
 - National Committee for Marketing (NCM) is setup to provide marketing support through services such as quality certification, Branding and Promotion, E-commerce linkages, advertising, publicity etc.
 - Availability of cheap collateral free credit at concessional rates.
 - Promote digital transactions by providing incentives like Re 1 per transaction for maximum upto 100 transactions (monthly).
