QUOTATIONS AND CAPTIONS

  • While this is due diligence, their presence and involvement should neither distract India from the Railways’ needs nor allow the government to hide behind a veil of secrecy.
  • It would be prudent for India to proceed with care in its dealings with China on the one hand and with its Quad partners on the other.
  • The development of green hydrogen currently rests crucially on availability of green power and access to clean water.
  • By engaging in policy advocacy and public discourse, think tanks influence the development of laws and regulations, often working closely with government agencies, non-profits, and the private sector.
  • As we forge ahead into this digital age, embracing Gandhi’s philosophy could pave the way for a more humane and equitable future.
  • Gandhian principles have high relevance today as we start integrating AI into aspects of human life, be it healthcare, economy, agriculture, or warehousing.
  • Gandhian philosophy, with its moral clarity and human-centred approach, serves as a vital guide for shaping the AI-driven future.
  • Indeed India and ASEAN nations have much in common; they share heritage and values which date backs to centuries. It is time to revive them.
  • India-ASEAN friendship, coordination dialogue and cooperation are essential at a time when several parts of the world are facing conflicts and tensions.
  • As the Right to Information (RTI) Act completes 19 years, it is time to amend the rules and expand its scope to ensure it continues to serve its purpose effectively.
  • The government should focus on linking established startup clusters with emerging hubs, rather than creating new ecosystems in new areas in a bid to create balanced regional development.

  • The next decade of the Act East Policy will be crucial in positioning India to strengthen its leadership in the increasingly dynamic Indo-Pacific region.

ESSAY TOPIC

  • The unexamined life is not worth living

50-WORD TALK

  • John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton laid the groundwork for AI and won the Nobel. It’s brave of them to raise concerns over potential spiralling of deep-learning, a revolution they fuelled, at a time their efforts have been awarded. We need to understand AI and harness its true potential. It shouldn’t be like riding a tiger.
  • Nearly a decade after ‘Digital India’ launched, new government data highlight a worrying trend. Mobile, internet and banking penetration is nearly complete, but India’s youth can’t effectively use these. Inability to send emails, do online banking or searches is the new malnutrition, exacerbated by the ‘fast food’ of social media.
