- It is launched as phase 2 of CITIIS, a sub-component of smart cities mission.
- The programme is conceived by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in partnership with French Development agency (AFD), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), the European Union (EU), and National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA).
- Time period: 2023-2027
- Program management unit is responsible for coordination and management of the project.
- Th project will be implemented in 18 cities selected by competition.
- Components:
- Financial and technical support to develop climate resilience.
- All states and Uts will be eligible for support on demand basis.
- Interventions at all three levels – centre, state, and city to further climate governance.
