GLOBAL SUMMIT ON BLUE FOOD SECURITY (ISRAEL)

The 2nd Global Summit on Blue Food Security, “Sea the Future 2026,” was held in Eilat, Israel, from January 13–15, 2026, focusing on sustainable aquaculture and marine food production in changing climates.

India and Israel signed a Joint Ministerial Declaration of Intent to deepen bilateral cooperation in fisheries, technological innovation, and aquaculture research, highlighted by Indian Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh’s visit.

Key aspects of the summit included:

    • Focus Areas: The event highlighted breakthroughs in aquaculture for arid climates, sustainable fishing practices, seaweed cultivation, and genetic improvement.
    • India-Israel Cooperation: The signed Declaration of Intent aims to create Indo-Israel Centers of Excellence to boost fisheries, aquaculture, and technology transfer.
    • Global Participation: The summit, hosted by Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience, featured international leaders, companies, and experts in Eilat’s Herods Hotel.
    • Key Discussions: Topics centered on leveraging AI and technology to improve, manage, and secure blue food (aquatic animals, plants, and algae) for future food needs.

The summit served as a platform for fostering partnerships between government entities and aquaculture startups.
