QUOTATIONS AND CAPTIONS

  • In such a fearful world, we need a fearless church.
  • The institutionalisation of the organisation has begun and it is a chance for India to work with the advanced economies.
  • This will ensure in-party democracy, make them transparent, and de-communalise them.
  • Political parties in developed nations maintain high levels of internal democracy.
  • Political parties are the agents of democracy and safety valves in the political system. They desperately need reform.
  • The politically charged, non-violent and ethical style of philosophy propagated by Gandhi is intended to make one spiritual — a practitioner is encouraged to gravitate and work for the welfare of all other beings.
  • With the potential onset of the third wave, it is important to prioritise a separate collection of infectious and highly infectious waste in the urban solid waste management systems.
  • Reopening schools and pretending that things are back to normal would be a recipe for disaster.
  • India’s climate targets are not conditional, but its negotiating position has been that finance and technology must be made available to developing countries.
  • The tussle between the US and China seeks formal garb after the AUKUS was formed, and now the US wants more micro engagements in the region.
  • Instead of killing Ease of Doing Business World Bank should improve it by strengthening the governance framework and fine-tuning the methodology.

50- WORD TALK

  • Dissolving OFB and converting it into seven defence PSUs is major reform. It breaks down a structure that was over 200 years old and was crumbling under its own weight. The hard work starts now. These PSUs need to adopt technology, unleash efficiency to make India truly self-dependent in defence.
  • The Desh bhakti curriculum introduced in Delhi schools is a case of getting the sequence wrong. Patriotism naturally follows robust nation-building, not the other way around. Seventy-five years after Independence, with 5,000 years of civilisation before that, students don’t need indoctrination. Instead, inculcate respect for rule of law and the Constitution.
