- This initiative is a part of the broader Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), a global movement inspired by Prime Minister’s vision of mindful and deliberate utilization of resources to ensure sustainability for future generations.
Objectives of the Ideas4LiFE Portal
- The primary objective of the Ideas4LiFE portal is to encourage and motivate students, research scholars, faculty, and innovators.
- It aims to contribute innovative ideas that align with the mission of promoting sustainable consumption and reducing environmental impact.

Portal Functionality and Incentives
- The Ideas4LiFE portal is designed to facilitate the easy submission of ideas and innovations online.
- Participants are encouraged to submit their concepts under one of the seven themes of Mission LiFE:
- Save Water
- Save Energy
- Reduce Waste
- Reduce E-Waste
- Say No to Single-Use Plastics
- Adopt Sustainable Food Systems
- Adopt Healthy Lifestyles
- Innovative ideas submitted under these categories will be evaluated, and winning entries will be recognized and rewarded with attractive prizes.
- These rewards are aimed at both individuals and institutions, providing incentives to contribute to the movement.
Collaborative Efforts and Implementation
- The implementation of Ideas4LiFE is a collaborative effort involving several key institutions and organizations.
- The University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), IITs, and other educational institutions across India are expected to play a crucial role in spreading awareness about the Ideathon and encouraging participation.

- UNICEF has also partnered with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in the implementation of Mission LiFE.
- In collaboration with UNICEF YuWaah, MoEF&CC has developed the comprehensive Ideas4LiFE portal, which will manage the submission, processing, and evaluation of ideas.
